Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14th July 2026

QShala ("we," "us," "our") operates the QShala Quiz League 2026 website (https://quizleague2026.qshala.com) (the "Site") and the associated quiz event (the "Event"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights parents/guardians have regarding their child's information.

This Site and Event are directed at children in Grades 4–7. We take extra care with how we collect, use, and protect information relating to children, and we require parent/guardian involvement in registration and consent.

1. Information We Collect

When a parent/guardian registers a child for the Event, we (directly, or via our registration partner, Gradeazy) collect:

  • Child's full name
  • Child's grade/class
  • Child's school name (if applicable)
  • Parent/guardian's name, email address, and phone number
  • Payment information (processed securely by Razorpay, our third-party payment provider — we do not store card or payment credentials ourselves)

We do not knowingly collect information directly from children without parental/guardian involvement in the registration process. Registration must be completed by a parent or guardian on the child's behalf.

We may also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit the Site (such as browser type, device type, and general usage analytics) to help us understand how the Site is used and to keep it running smoothly. This technical data is not linked to a specific child's identity beyond what is needed for event administration.

2. How We Use This Information

We use the information collected only for purposes directly related to the Event, including:

  • Registering the child for the Event and verifying eligibility (grade level)
  • Delivering quizzes, sending the daily "QQL Blast" preparation emails, and sharing results
  • Generating and emailing the Digital Participation Certificate and Personalised Report
  • Communicating with the parent/guardian about Event logistics, schedule changes, or important updates
  • Announcing Grand Finale results and leaderboard standings (see Section 5 on public display of results)
  • Processing payment for registration
  • Improving the Site and the Event experience

We do not use children's information for targeted advertising, behavioral profiling, or any marketing purpose unrelated to the Event.

3. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

We work with a limited number of trusted service providers strictly to operate the Event, including:

  • Gradeazy — for registration form processing
  • Razorpay — for payment collection
  • Vercel — for hosting the Site

These providers are only given the minimum information necessary to perform their specific function, are contractually/legally obligated to protect it, and are not permitted to use it for any purpose beyond providing their service to us.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the safety of a child, other participants, or the public.

4. Parental/Guardian Consent

By registering a child for the Event, the registering parent/guardian confirms that:

  • They are the parent or legal guardian of the child being registered, or have obtained appropriate authorization to register the child (e.g. as a school representative registering on behalf of enrolled students, per Section 8 below)
  • They consent to the collection and use of the child's information as described in this Privacy Policy
  • They consent to the Event being recorded and used as described in Section 5 below

Parents/guardians may withdraw consent and request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us at qshala@walnuts.co.in. Please note that withdrawing consent before the Event concludes may mean the child can no longer participate, as core registration data is required to deliver the quizzes, track leaderboard standing, and issue certificates/reports.

5. Event Recording, Photography & Social Media

The Grand Finale and other Event components may be recorded (video, audio, and/or screen capture) and photographed.

By registering, parents/guardians consent to:

  • The Event being recorded for the purposes of hosting the live/virtual Finale
  • Recordings, photographs, highlight clips, leaderboard rankings, and winner names/grades potentially being used in QShala's marketing, social media (e.g. Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook), website, and promotional materials, both during and after the Event

We will not publish a child's full contact information (address, phone number, personal email) in any public material. Where a child's name, grade, or likeness (photo/video) is used publicly, we will use only what is reasonably necessary (e.g. first name + last initial, grade, school name, and leaderboard rank) unless a parent/guardian has separately and explicitly agreed to broader use.

If a parent/guardian does not wish their child's name, image, or performance to be used in public-facing materials (social media, marketing, press), they may opt out by contacting us at qshala@walnuts.co.in before the Event begins. We will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests, though please note that live-event elements (e.g. a live-streamed Finale) may be harder to fully edit after the fact.

6. Data Retention

We retain registration and Event-related data only as long as necessary to:

  • Deliver the Event and its associated communications (certificates, reports)
  • Comply with legal, accounting, or regulatory requirements
  • Resolve disputes or enforce our agreements

After this period, data is deleted or anonymized, except where retention is required by law.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect, including relying on the security practices of our payment partner (Razorpay) for payment-related data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Schools/Educators Registering on Behalf of Students

If a school or educator registers students on behalf of their institution, the school/educator is responsible for obtaining appropriate parental/guardian consent for each student in accordance with applicable law and their own institutional policies, before submitting registrations to us.

9. Your Rights

Parents/guardians may contact us at any time to:

  • Request access to the information we hold about their child
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of their child's information (subject to Section 4 above)
  • Withdraw consent for public use of their child's name/image/performance (subject to Section 5 above)
  • Ask questions about this Privacy Policy

To exercise these rights, contact us at qshala@walnuts.co.in or +91 86600 73808.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes affecting how children's data is handled will be communicated to registered parents/guardians where reasonably possible.
